I. Introduction to Sinolink Foundation
Established by a group of China studies scholars in October, 1994, Sinolink Foundation is a non-profit, independent (not associated with any political, religious, or special-interest groups) organization specializing in cultural and educational exchanges with China.  In February, 1995, it was granted tax-exemption status by U.S. Internal Revenue Service.  In November, 2003, Sinolink Foundation became one of the first group of foreign organizations licensed by China National Foreign Expert Bueau to recruit foreign professionals for China (Only 80 foreign organizations got the license so far).  Currently, Sinolink Foundation has over 150 members with doctoral degrees or academic ranks of associate professorship or higher in the U.S. and China, and operates its business from five U.S. and 11 China offices.
II.  Major Achievements
 The major achievements of Sinolink Foundation in cultural and educational exchanges with China over the past 17 years include:
  • Sponsored or assisted over 100 American scholars to lecture, attend conferences and workshops, and conduct research in China;
  • Sponsored over Chinese students and scholars to pursue further training or research in the United States;
  • Recruited over 300 American and Canadian citizens to teach English or intern in China;
  • Assisted over 20 American scientists, engineers, management experts, and entrepreneurs in establishing long-term collaboration relationships with Chinese businesses;  
  • Jointly sponsored international conferences, workshops and seminars on global issues (e.g., the annual "International Conference on Population and Sustainable Development", 1997-2001, in partnership with the Population Studies Association of China);
  • Assisted 27 Chinese colleges and universities in establishing partnerships with U.S. higher education institutions;
  • Trained the first group of bilingual teachers in the U.S. (34 teachers from Shanghai from September 2001-January 2002);
  • Organized and solely-sponsored the tour performances of three major Chinese performing arts groups in the U.S. (the most recent one being the visit of Shanghai Xuhui Orchestra and Choir in May 2011);
  • Organized and sponsored two cross-U.S. art exhibitions for five Chinese fine arts organizations headed by Jinan Fine Arts Institute;
  • Received over 1,000 Chinese visitors to the U.S. in cultural and educational spheres;
  • Assisted the first acquisition of a U.S. k-12 school by a Chinese investment group and its subsequent operations;
  • Organized the forth-coming debut tour performance of Utah Valley University Multicultural Performing Troupe in China for April 2012;
  • Provided assistance to Chinese nationals in various ways.
